Frequently Asked Questions:
Why are there 3 photo days?
School photo days are notoriously super fast. They kind of have to be. Often the photographer will have less than 10 seconds per student. As a mother myself, I know how important these moments can be and how fast time goes. It is important to me to extend the photo day into three days as it allows for about 1 minute per student - more time to truly capture who they are. It is still a short amount of time, but it does help quite a bit to help them warm up, relax, and let their personality show.
We also finish before lunch all three days. This is because your student will look and feel their best before that mid-day bite allowing for more authentic photographs.
Watch for announcements about your student’s photo day, organized by grade.
How do I order prints or all of the digitals?
The gallery will go live on November 12th. Look for your student’s grade, then name. Click on any image. Choose “Buy Photo”. From there you’ll see the options for everything from packages, prints, to digitals.
If you choose “Digitals”. There are two options: “Single Photo” (for $45) or “All Photos in the Album” (for $95).
If you have siblings, I added sibling photos within each child’s album (as opposed to a separate album). This way you can choose to order all images in one album and just one or two from another - or any combination you choose. There is a 15% discount for orders containing more than one full digital album.
When will my prints arrive?
Digital downloads are available immediately - check your email after ordering!
If you order by November 24th - your prints will be hand packaged and delivered to Westside and ready for pick-up on December 15th.
All print and wall art orders after November 24th, will be sent to you directly from the studio - typically less than a week (depending). Note: These orders will include a shipping fee, but it’s a great time to send the gallery out to family members!
Can I change the crop of an image?
Yes! If you see an image you would like to crop differently - you may change it yourself for Wall Art. Feel free to also comment on the image with details about how you would like it cropped when you order - If I have any questions about the crop, I’ll reach out before ordering. Please note - some images may cut off hands etc.. due to the ratio (5x7 as opposed to 8x10). I do my best to have it make the most sense - but do comment if you have a specific request.
Why does the preview show a square image - with part of the student cut off?
I don’t know why the site does it this way! But this is not how the image will be cropped. The “preview” is really just to show you which image was chosen. The actual crop will be similar to what you see in your gallery/album and depend on the ratio of the ordered print. I hand crop each image according to your size choice and any notes you place in the comments. BTW: If you would like to rotate an image from horizontal to vertical (especially for wallets) let me know in the comments! I will otherwise keep it as-is.
Why don’t all images appear in both color and black & white?
Each black & white portrait is edited individually as its own piece of artwork. I don’t simply convert the color version, I make creative choices based on tone, light, and emotion. Because of this, the black & white edit may have a different crop or composition, and in some cases, an image may simply work better in one format than the other.
The images, edits, and crops shown in your gallery -both color and black & white- are the final delivered versions.
Do you offer retouching?
Yes, Absolutely! I want you to LOVE the images! You may choose retouching as a separate item in your album. Please do leave a detailed comment when you order and I will reach out if I have any questions.
Simple Retouching is $5 per image and includes: Small blemishes, scratches/bumps, pimples, temporary tattoo remnants, snack bits on clothing or chin.
Complex Retouching is $25 per image and includes: Removing glare from glasses (although not always possible), removing wrinkles from clothing - or changing how the clothing hangs, removing flyaway hair/fixing hair, changing the lighting or background in dramatic ways.
Full Gallery Retouching is $55 and includes the same edit/retouch on every image in one album.
How do I sign up for retakes?
Retakes will take place on the same day as class photos: May 7th, 2026. Retakes can include sibling photos - just let us know! You will receive communication closer to that date about signing up for a retake. You may also sign up here prior to May 1st:
