I absolutely LOVED photographing your Bridge School students last year - and I'm so happy to be back! My approach to school photos is to capture each child as they are, in the best light.

I received tenure as a public school teacher in NYC in 2017, where I worked for 8 years before moving into photography full-time. I also taught outdoor education and Art/STEAM at Bridge last year. I understand deeply how unique each individual child is. My goal is to help them feel comfortable, and then allow them to be themselves as I capture who they are. I don't force smiles (although I do try to get them to laugh), I don't put them in awkward poses (although I do guide them and engage them in light conversation to find the best pose). I use a textured grey background, and a large window-light-style studio flash.

They should wear what they feel great in. Try to avoid graphics, intense patterns, and neon colors as that will distract from their faces. Solid colors are best. Do check for wrinkles and stains! The background will be textured grey, which goes with almost any color.

Within two weeks of your child's photo day, you will be emailed the link to a class proofing gallery. There will be 2-5 images of each child in both black and white and color to choose from. Please note, each child reacts differently to being photographed - some will have more images to choose from than others. The galleries will be hidden, but accessible to everyone in the school - please let me know if you need to have your own private gallery (email me).

You will be able to order prints, digital files, framed art and more directly from the online viewing gallery. The gallery will be live for two weeks and ALL PRINT ORDERS MUST BE PLACED IN THAT PERIOD (BY NOVEMBER 5th) in order to be delivered to the school all together. All orders will be delivered directly to the Bridge School for pickup.

I will never include your child’s name or school. This is simply to showcase what I do to other schools in the Seattle area and to other Seattle families. It helps a TON.
